Hi everyone!

I'm new to this board (this is my first post) and was wondering if you could help me out. I am planning a weekend trip to Chicago with my daughter and was wondering if you could recommend a hotel to stay at close to AG Place and any helpful tips for the trip.
Thanks!

We are driving up from Columbia, Missouri that weekend! We are staying at a Holiday Inn at Chicago Center or something on that order, just down the street. We got the reservations through Priceline.com and it was extrememly reasonable! PM me if you want, and I can give you some specifics! Hope to see you there!

I heard the Park Hyatt is nice - but I think the rooms are a bit pricey. I've been playing around with the idea of taking DD up for her birthday and staying at The Drake because I like old, historic hotels.

If you look on the americangirl.com website, and click on American Girl Place, there is a list of nearby hotels under the "planning your trip" section, as well as nearby parking, and even the menus for the AGP Cafe! Take a look, it's very helpful.

We stayed at this hotel, which is a renovated historic "women's hotel" or apartment house. Our room had a queen bed, big bath, small living area and a little kitchen with dishes and everything. It is located diagonally NE from AGPC with Water Tower mall in between (so you can cut through the shopping center if it's raining).
It was by far the best deal I could find, especially when you add in parking fees.

The Park Hyatt is beautiful- it's right across the street from AGPC. The rooms are pricey though. Here is a website to check out the prices: http://parkchicago.hyatt.com/hyatt/hotels/ . There is also a hotel called the InterContinental that is about 4 or 5 blocks away from AGPC. Here is the website: http://www.ichotelsgroup.com/h/d/ic/1/en/home . I think the one we stayed at was on 505 North Michigan Avenue.
I forgot to say welcome to the board!
